Weddings

Our office is happy to provide a venue for small, civil based wedding and partnership ceremonies. Weather permitting, we can perform a simple and memorable ceremony outside on our office grounds or inside in our pleasant office space.

Our charge for ceremonies varies, but starts at $250 for a short ceremony at our office location. This includes a brief meeting a few minutes prior to the ceremony, the ceremony itself, a decorative wedding certificate, and filing of your paperwork with Benton County Records. For more elaborate services or ceremonies at other locations, our rates start at $300. Please contact our office for more information.

We wish you joy, health, and happiness.

How Do I Get Married?

To legally marry in the state of Oregon you must meet the basic requirements and complete paperwork with the County Clerk’s Office. In Benton County, both spouses must go together to the clerk’s office, pay the filing fee (starting at $52), and complete the required paperwork. You may change your last name at the same time without additional paperwork, but be sure to request a certified copy of your marriage certificate from the clerk for a small additional charge ($4 per copy).

Once you complete the paperwork with the clerk, you must wait 3 days before the ceremony which finalizes your marriage. The paperwork will remain valid for up to 60 days after the 3 day waiting period has expired. Please bring the paperwork to your ceremony so that we can complete it and return it to the clerk.

How Do I Establish a Domestic Partnership?

A domestic partnership is established by completing the appropriate paperwork and filing it with the County Clerk’s Office. The cost for filing is $50, and there is a $10 per person charge for the notary fee. You can print the forms out and have them notarized by another person before providing them to the clerk (for example, our office will provide this service at no cost if we are performing the ceremony or often your bank will offer a free notary service as well). You may change your last name at the same time without additional paperwork but be sure to request a certified copy of your marriage certificate from the clerk for a small additional charge ($4 per copy). Although no official ceremony is required, we can help you turn a life-changing event into a lovely memory.

For more information on the legal paperwork, you may wish to contact the county clerk’s office.
